Editors have the responsibility to regularly create content in ahead, on top of their other work responsibilities and tasks. With a busy agenda, different projects and stakeholders to deal with, it's understandable that sometimes, editors will neglect this responsibility in order to focus on other things.

You can avoid disengaged and demotivated editors by hosting regular (for example quarterly) meetings with the whole team. Goal of these meetings is to:

  • Review commucations published in the last period and their performance
  • Share feedback and ideas on publishing content
  • Align on company goals & their relation with content to be published
  • Clarify responsibilities and expectations
  • Review or plan content to be published in the next period

By giving your editors a space where they can openly voice their opinions, set clear expectations and define specific responsibilities, you will increase accountability and engagement amongs your content creators.

Make sure to account for unforseen changes in your plan, as well as absences in the editors team:

Finally, remind your editors not only to publish content, but also to interact with content published by others, as well as with employees' comments and questions on the platform.
